Job Purpose: To deliver high-quality painting and decorating services for the home. The role supports a safe, welcoming, and well-maintained environment for residents, staff and visitors. The post holder will be required to work at height and travel to other sites as required, following appropriate risk assessments and safety procedures in accordance with regulatory and company standards. From time to time, the post holder may be required to assist with general maintenance tasks and provide cover during the absence of other maintenance personnel.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Qualifications:
Essential
- Proven experience in painting, decorating and general maintenance
- Good knowledge of surface preparation, wallpapering, and appropriate use of tools and materials
- Ability to work at height and on ladders safely, including high ceilings
- Understanding of health and safety regulations including COSHH, working at height, and manual handling
- Awareness of safeguarding principles and GDPR compliance
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to other homes within the organisation
Desirable
NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in Painting and Decorating or a related field
Experience working in care, healthcare or other regulated settings
Asbestos awareness training or similar certification

Principal Responsibilities:
- Undertake all aspects of painting, wallpapering, and decorating to ensure homes are maintained to a high
- standard
- Carry out planned and responsive works, reporting defects and hazards as appropriate
- Travel between designated care homes to support maintenance teams, as and when required
- Work at height using appropriate safety equipment and comply with risk assessments and safe systems of work
- Ensure safe use, maintenance and storage of tools and hazardous substances in line with COSHH
- Minimise disruption to residents and uphold safeguarding and dignity at all times
- Maintain accurate maintenance records in accordance with GDPR and internal policies
- Assist with general maintenance duties as required, including basic repairs and compliance checks
- Provide cover for other maintenance personnel during periods of absence or annual leave
- Participate in fire, health and safety, and safeguarding training as required
