Heron Hill Care Home, located in the historic town of Kendal and close to local transport links, is a purpose-built home delivering exceptional nursing, dementia, residential dementia, palliative, and respite care.

We are proud to have been rated Outstanding in Care in our most recent CQC inspection — a recognition that reflects the compassion, dedication, and consistency of our team.

Our home offers accommodation for up to 86 residents in spacious single rooms, each with its own ensuite facilities. We also provide a specialised 20-bed male-only unit for individuals living with complex dementia, supported by our award-winning care team, recognised year after year in the National Care Awards.

Residents enjoy well-appointed private suites, designed with safety, comfort, and accessibility in mind, alongside modern amenities such as adjustable electric beds, integrated call systems, and climate control.

Meet the manager

I started my career in the care sector in 1992 as a carer in a nursing home and through study I worked her way up to her current position of Registered Home Manager. Along the way I have studied to gain the knowledge required to become a good home manager, NVQ level 4 qualification in Health and Social care and Management, along with the Registered Managers level 4 award, which has enabled me to work both in residential and nursing homes for the elderly. I am passionate about promoting a high quality of care for both her residents, their families and her team. Nicola supports her team to achieve this through training, supervision and guidance. Nicola encourages open and honest discussions with her residents and their families to help her and her team to perform the best they can.
