DAY 08.00-20.00 SHIFTS VARIABLE TO SUIT THE NEEDS OF THE BUSINESS AND WILL INCLUDE ALTERNATE WEEKENDS FOR FULL TIME HOURS. BANK HOLIDAYS ALSO FORM PART OF THE ROSTERED SHIFT PATTERN. CANDIDATES WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR SUPPORTING THE VARYING PHYSICAL AND MENTAL HEALTH NEEDS OF CLIENTS WITHIN THE HOME.

Experience of working in the Care Sector preferred
NVQ level 2 desirable
An interest in caring for the service user group
Principal Responsibilities:
To understand and provide care for residents that meets individual needs.
To understand the effect on care on residents and families.
To assist the resident in any area of their daily care needs which they would normally
undertake themselves if they were able to do so whilst promoting independence wherever
possible.
To participate in activities
To care for all residents needs as required with the aim of optimising their independence
To read the Care Plans of each client to promote continuity of care.
To complete and record documentation as required, to include, food/fluid intake/ changing
position, applying topical creams, daily notes and notes of significant events.
To understand the right of the individual to confidentiality
To understand and be aware of Deprivation of Liberty (DoLs) – England and Adults with capacity
– Scotland.
Within the Care Team, the following are examples of tasks which may be undertaken: –
o Care of clothes and personal belongings
o Bed making – empty and occupied.
o Moving and handling, dressing, and assisting residents in their daily hygiene and
dressing needs.
o Personal hygiene – Bathing, care of the eyes, mouth, hair, and nails
o Care of skin and pressure areas
o Assist with toilet requirements
o Escorting residents
o Helping to serve meals and drinks, assisting and feeding those residents whose need
requires it
o Recording any necessary individual information i.e. turn/tilt charts, fluid balance charts
o Observing and reporting any changes in resident’s condition.
o Be aware, understand individual care plans.
Always Observe the Homes Health and Safety policy
To report to Senior staff any hazard or unsafe equipment that may be injurious to the health
and safety of staff, residents, and visitors
To complete e learning and mandatory training, and other training as required
To answer call bells and give assistance as required
To be a valued member of the Key worker scheme
To promote and market the home
To read, understand and abide by all company policies and procedures
To Attend meetings as required
Night Duty
This is a wakeful duty unless notified otherwise.
