CELEBRATING LONG SERVICE AWARDS AT FARNWORTH CARE HOME WITH FUN AT THE FAIR!

3 August 2022

At Farnworth Care Home a fantastic day was had by all, celebrating staff loyalty.

The day started with the awards celebration, handing out over 30 gifts to staff to recognise their long service in caring for our residents, from 5, 10 and 15 years plus, in a private event just for them with sweet treats and glasses raised for a celebratory toast!

To follow a party for everyone was afoot. Stilt walker, face painter, merry go round, entertainer modelling balloons for the young ones, ice cream van, BBQ and sweet, delicious treats served. Residents, families and friends, some in fancy dress, all joined in the fun, united together in this wonderful and meaningful celebration.

Andy Taylor, Financial Director of Abbey Healthcare was unable to attend by sent this heartfelt message which was read out to all the staff team “Firstly, thanks to everyone for coming – and very sorry that I can’t be here in person – after 2.5 years of avoiding covid it finally caught up with me.

I would like to especially thank all those we are here for today – to recognise their long service in caring for our residents – thank you from us but more importantly thank you from the residents themselves. You have always worked hard, but in the last couple of years that has been particularly tough. I know you have made great sacrifices to provide care to our residents. Thank you from all of us for that.

I thought it worthwhile to put the length of service in perspective…

15 years is a long time…
In 2007 the I phone was invented and Take That had a number 1 hit.
Since then, there have been:
5 Prime Ministers
6 (Men’s) England football managers”

His message ended with “I’m an accountant… so let’s put it into some numbers. 15 years is:

780 weeks
3,120 shifts
37,440 hours of caring for our residents.

I’d personally would like to thank all of you for the hard work – we are truly lucky to have you. Congratulations on reaching these milestones and have a great day!
