Cromwell House Care Home Brings a Taste of the Tropics to Huntingdon

9 August 2026

Sunshine, sea breezes (well, garden breezes) and a whole lot of aloha spirit: that’s what greeted residents, families and staff at Cromwell House Care Home this summer, as the Huntingdon home hosted a Hawaiian-themed garden party that had everyone talking.

A Tropical Paradise in the Heart of Huntingdon

On Saturday 1 August, the gardens at Cromwell House were transformed into a vibrant island getaway for the afternoon. Guests were treated to delicious food, live music and a warm, welcoming atmosphere that turned an ordinary Saturday into an unforgettable celebration.

The event was graced by a special guest of honour: the Mayor of Huntingdon, Cllr Patrick Kadewere, who attended alongside his Mayoress, adding a touch of civic pride to the festivities.

A spokesperson for Cromwell House shared their delight at how the day unfolded:

“Blessed with glorious sunshine, the care home’s gardens were transformed into a tropical paradise as guests enjoyed delicious food, great company, and a lively atmosphere. The event was filled with laughter, music, and plenty of smiles, creating lasting memories for everyone who attended.”

More Than Just a Party

Events like this Hawaiian garden party are about far more than fun in the sun. At Cromwell House, days like these are carefully designed to promote social interaction among residents, strengthen bonds with family members, and create genuinely joyful experiences that support wellbeing.

Whether it’s the chance to don a flower garland, sway along to island tunes, or simply share a plate of good food with loved ones in the sunshine, these moments matter. They bring colour, connection and community into everyday life at the home.

A Home Going From Strength to Strength

The Hawaiian party comes on the back of great news for the home: Cromwell House recently received a “Good” overall rating following a Performance and Assessment Monitoring and Management System (PAMMS) Intelligent Care Audit, a reflection of the high standards of care and quality of life the team consistently delivers.

Cromwell House would like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who came along and helped make the day so special, from residents and families to staff, and of course the Mayor and Mayoress for joining the celebrations.

Here’s to the next celebration, aloha, Huntingdon!
